Feature: Beast of Reincarnation PC Suffers from Poor Performance Scaling, Though Optimised Settings Help

Is the PC version the best way to play Game Freak's Action RPG debut? We've already covered Beast of Reincarnation on PS5 Pro, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and now it's time to look at the PC version. Some of the console settings choices are just bizarre, so does the PC version allow you to tweak your way into a better balance of fidelity and performance? And what are the best optimised settings for Game Freak's long-awaited extracurricular outing into PC and Unreal Engine 5 development? Read the f

Review: Beast of Reincarnation: Game Freak's Action RPG Is a Technical Disappointment on Console

PS5 Pro, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S all exhibit poor performance and odd choices. Game Freak's Beast of Reincarnation represents a genuine first for Game Freak - their debut action RPG and their first Unreal Engine 5 project, stepping well outside the Pokémon franchise that has heretofore defined the studio for three decades. The game is also targeting a wider range of platforms, including the PlayStation and Xbox versions we'll cover here and the PC version that we'll provide optimised settings f

Beast of Reincarnation's First PS5 Update Adjusts Camera, Text Size, and Much More

Here are the patch notes. Beast of Reincarnation launched on PS5 last week, and while it has plenty of redeeming qualities, there are also some rough edges that bring it down a peg. Developer Game Freak has promised to make some pretty big updates to improve the experience, and the first patch has already arrived. It's available to download and install now. Beast of Reincarnation is getting some "story pacing improvements" in its first patch, as part of "ongoing adjustments" from Game Freak

Beast of Reincarnation, the soulslike about a girl and her dog battling an array of beasties in post-apocalyptic Japan, came out yesterday, August 4th. Developers Game Freak are already hard at work on patches for it, with the first set to include some "story pacing improvements" that should hopefully help address some of the gripes our Callum highlighted in his freshly published Beast of Reincarnation review.

Beast Of Reincarnation review: A briefly fun Sekiro-like that becomes chewing gum for the brain

Beast Of Reincarnation opened pretty promisingly. Its first stretch dropped me into a sprawling fantasy forestscape full of deadly spore-sprouting woodland creatures, gave me a sick hat and a fireball-shooting dog, then strapped a katana in my hand and introduced a real solid parry clang that would fire dopamine into my brain every time I landed it. Considering the generous parry window let me effortlessly deflect the boulder-sized suckerpunches of a 9ft grizzly bear, I figured this was shaping

Round Up: Game Freak's 'Beast Of Reincarnation' Is A Mixed Bag

The reviews are in. Game Freak, as you'll know, is basically the Pokémon company (except for, you know, the actual Pokémon Company, which Game Freak partly owns – it's not as complex as it sounds, promise). Yet every now and then, the developer will come out with something that has absolutely nothing to do with Pokémon, and its latest effort is Beast of Reincarnation for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Now you might be wondering why we're doing a round up for a game that isn't available on Switch

Beast Of Reincarnation’s Cinematic Focus Fails Its Flashy Action

When you start a new game in Game Freak’s Beast of Reincarnation, a prompt asks if you’d like to play in cinematic mode. This locks the cutscene frame rate to 24 frames per second, but, understandably, leaves the gameplay as is. When I first saw this during my 90-minute preview session last month, it felt like a bold statement from Game Freak. Pokemon, Game Freak’s multigenerational smash-hit, can be described as many things, but cinematic it certainly is not. Unfortunately, aside from its flash
