Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition
What critics said
Gaming-Village100Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is also a very good RPG on the Nintendo Switch 2. Classic elements are implemented excellently, and the main characters surrounding the protagonist make the story shine especially brightly. Play-wise, it is largely fairly simple, though the draconic missions offer opportunities to compensate. Additionally, there's well-executed voice acting in many places accompanied by outstanding orchestral music. Both in Graphics Mode and Performance Mode, the title runs stably at all times. For owners of the Nintendo Switch version, a completely new purchase of the game on the Nintendo Switch 2 purely for resolution and framerate is less worthwhile, but for new players, it's the better-looking experience.
Game Rant90JRPG fans who've been patient enough to wait will be rewarded in playing through Dragon Quest 11 S, which is easily the superior version.
Eurogamer80A suite of enhancements help bring the virtues of this staunchly traditional RPG into focus.
