It has a lot going for it, and from a technical standpoint, it's basically perfect. It runs smooth as butter, looks fantastic, and has no glitches that we discovered. And while the writing can be clunky at times, the ending is legitimately wild and worth suffering through the worst bosses to reach. It's true that Lies of P gives in to some of the worst Soulslike instincts at times, but it can be extremely fun when the combat clicks. Just expect a significant time investment and a lot of frustration before that happens.

Reminder: Lies Of P Switch 2 Physical Release Now Available
Includes the "game on cartridge". The soulslike Lies of P: Complete Edition launched digitally on the Switch 2 in August and this week Neowiz has released the physical edition. It's teamed up with iam8bit to distribute the Complete Edition, and there are two versions up for grabs. First is the "exclusive edition" for $69.99. This comes with the full "game on cartridge", the Overture DLC, an exclusive sleeve, and boss lore cards.

Did you enjoy Lies of P? The game - a Soulslike take on the story of Geppetto and Pinocchio - was very succesful when it launched in 2023. Now, it looks like we may have our first proper glimpse at what the game's sequel may turn out to be. A couple of new trademarks have appeared over at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), registered by publisher Neowiz, for a mysterious project called 'Wonders of O'.

One of the teams behind Neowiz's Souls-like Lies of P has released a short documentary detailing how they kept "testing and refining" the game before its release, as well as offering a little insight into its hardcore "games by gamers" culture.

Out next month. Ahead of the release of Lies of P: Complete Edition on the Switch 2 eShop next month, multiple previews have now gone live. According to the details so far, there'll be a day one patch at launch to address some performance issues. The previews have also highlighted some issues with the quality mode. Fortunately, it's still an enjoyable experience on this platform.
Lies Of P's Soulslike Puppetry Comes To Switch 2 This August
No strings attached. Here's one for the Soulslike fans out there. Lies of P is heading to Switch 2 on 6th August in an all-new 'Complete Edition'. This new version of Neowiz and Round8 Studio's 2023 action game bundles the 'Overture' expansion in with the base game, and from the brief look we got in the Direct, it seems to run at a pretty solid 60fps — nice.
