Nintendo Life90Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 might not seem as important as Vol. 1 at first glance, but Guns of the Patriots and Peace Walker are both essential entries for entirely different reasons: MGS4, free from its PS3 shackles, wraps up an incredible narrative in style, while Peace Walker is a huge, addictive experience that's perfect for handheld play on Switch 2.With the addition of Ghost Babel and a dense database of extra information, I have no qualms in recommending this for folks who enjoyed the first collection, even if Peace Walker perhaps should have made better use of the Switch 2's power. Now bring on Vol. 3, Konami – Metal Gear Rising, Ground Zeroes, and The Phantom Pain would round it out nicely.
WayTooManyGames85Even if it features fewer games in absolute terms, and basically no extras to speak of, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 somehow feels less “lazy” than its predecessor, even though that collection was already pretty great to begin with. The inclusion of a fully remastered Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which has never looked or played better, is worth the admission ticket alone. A remastered Ghost Babel is another fantastic addition, while the inevitable inclusion of Peace Walker rounds out the package nicely, even if, as previously mentioned, it still feels like only half of the complete Big Boss story.
