Rather than attempting to compete directly with other complex ARPGs, it expands the original formula in some meaningful ways. The improvement to the world design, exploration, and expanded gear make it feel more engaging. However, the sequel doesn’t completely escape the limitations of its design, the story remains in the background instead of being a major draw, and combat can still be repetitive.
IGN60Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a shallow ARPG sequel that provides a few evenings of mindless dungeon delving fun, but not much beyond that.
