Random: Don't Be Fooled By Google Play Store's Tomodachi Life Clones

Like looking in a Miirror. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream sales have got off to a strong start in its first month on the market, so it was only a matter of time before knock-offs started cropping up. We're used to seeing all manner of clones on the eShop and other digital storefronts, with their ripped assets usually hidden behind a thinly-veiled key art tweak and title change; what we don't often come across is something as shameless as the Google Play Store's current offerings. Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Projected As The Best-Selling Game In April (US)

And Switch 2 is the best-selling console. The delightfully bizarre first-party life sim Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has been projected to be the best-selling game of April in the US, thanks to Circana's Mat Piscatella. The new release beats the likes of Pragmata, Crimson Desert, Pokémon Pokopia, and Saros, though it's important to note that this is merely projected sales. Since Nintendo doesn't share monthly digital sales data, the best Circana can do at this stage is, well... project the o

UK Charts: Tomodachi Life Beats Saros To Reclaim Number One

We're really living the dream. The latest UK physical charts data is here, and despite competition from a few new releases, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has reclaimed the top spot. Last week, the zany life sim was pushed to one side by Capcom's brand new IP Pragmata, but the third-person adventure shooter has slipped all the way down to tenth.

Japanese Charts: Tomodachi Life's Huge Start Crushes The Competition

Living the dream indeed. We've got our latest look at the Japanese charts, thanks to Famitsu, and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has left the competition in the dust. Nintendo's latest life sim has got off to a staggering start, shifting a sweet 565,405 copies in its debut week. That leaves this week's silver medallist, Pragmata, with quite the distance to make up — the PS5 version sold 36,470 copies, which is impressive on its own given that the Switch 2 version isn't out until 24th April. After blasting through its free Switch demo, Tomodachi Life's bizarro blend of The Sims and Animal Crossing is exactly the kind of weird I was hoping for

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but the fact Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream's free Switch demo arrived on the 3DS' 15th anniversary earlier this week feels - to me at least - entirely fitting. Tomodachi Life is probably the 3DS game I think about most; not so much in the fond memory sense, but more like a particularly vivid cheese dream. On paper, Tomodachi Life is something like Animal Crossing mixed with The Sims, perhaps with a bit of Tamagotchi thrown in. But that doesn't really convey j
