Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2
What critics said
GamingBolt80An excellent follow-up and a solid boomer shooter in its own right, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is strongly recommended for fans.
Cerealkillerz82Boltgun 2 is a sequel that focuses on giving players more of everything. More Chaos Gods, more enemies, more varied environments, and a second playable character in Nyra, complete with her own weapons. The variety of enemies and the different locations are particularly enjoyable, and even the medium difficulty offers a decent challenge. On the downside, Malum and Nyra feel barely different beyond their weapons, the levels often follow the same formula, and the story is little more than an excuse to keep the guns blazing. Still, if you’re a Warhammer fan or simply in the mood for a fast-paced boomer shooter, you can’t go far wrong with Boltgun 2. There’s just something undeniably fun about blasting your way through hordes of familiar Warhammer enemies.
MKAU Gaming70Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is more of what Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun delivered, but with meaningful changes. It has great music and punchy sound effects, a new character to play, and replayability with meaningful accessibility options. Although there are some bugs that can break the flow and be disheartening, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is worth playing if you loved Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun 2 Takes the Ultraviolent ‘90s FPS to the Great Outdoors | IGN Preview
I've only played a couple hours of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, blasting through the 45-minute demo as both playable characters, but I've had a rousing time with it. Both characters feel different and exciting with punchy and satisfying weapons. The new level designs – particularly the icy one – have me intrigued to see what else they've cooked up. It's still very much what I'd expect when you say "Warhammer 40K" and "boomer shooter." But that remains a glorious combination.
