GTA 6 Gameplay Revealed, Fable Delayed, Iron Man Leaks
Grand Theft Auto VI finally has an official gameplay showcase, with Rockstar Games releasing a 27-minute Extended Look captured on PlayStation 5. The presentation provides the clearest picture yet of Jason and Lucia’s relationship, criminal careers, and life in Leonida.
Gamescom 2026 also brings fresh Fable gameplay from Playground Games, while leaked footage puts EA Motive’s long-silent Marvel’s Iron Man project back in the spotlight.
Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look Reveals 27 Minutes of Gameplay
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look shows a densely detailed Vice City and surrounding Leonida, with footage focused on exploration, driving, criminal activity, gunfights, and cinematic scenes involving protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The preview is captured on PS5 and is now available through Rockstar’s official release of the showcase.
The game also revises several familiar Grand Theft Auto systems. Police now have more ways to track players through an overhauled wanted system and Criminal Profile, while stealing and driving cars become more involved than the largely instantaneous systems in earlier entries. Jason and Lucia’s romance is similarly dynamic: players can strengthen or neglect their relationship, with Rockstar presenting the system as optional rather than a requirement for completing the story.
The scale is substantial. Rockstar says GTA 6’s map is twice the size of GTA 5’s, while an 80-hour playthrough estimate comes from co-studio head Rob Nelson’s run through the main story alongside optional goals with narrative consequences, rather than a confirmed completion-time requirement. Digital Foundry’s analysis identifies the PS5 footage as apparently running at native 1440p with a generally stable 30 frames per second, and Rockstar has not settled whether a 60fps performance mode will be possible.
Rockstar also says Grand Theft Auto VI does not use generative AI and contains no microtransactions. The game still has no announced PC release date, with the available information focused on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
Fable Moves to February 2027 After Original October Target
Playground Games originally aimed to release Fable in October 2026 before Xbox delayed it to February 2027, and the game’s director says the team is “glad” the extra time is available. The delay also keeps Fable away from Grand Theft Auto VI’s crowded release window.
Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games use Gamescom 2026 to show both a 16-minute combat presentation and an 18-minute quest through Bowerstone. The footage focuses on Fable’s style-weaving combat, which lets players combine abilities and approach encounters according to their preferred playstyle.
EA Motive’s Marvel’s Iron Man Footage Leaks Online
Work-in-progress footage from EA Motive’s Marvel’s Iron Man appears online, showing unfinished combat, characters, and customization systems in a project that has been largely absent from public view. The leaked video uses unfinished assets, but its direction and editing lead to speculation that it could be an early version of an official trailer rather than a purely internal development clip.
The video carries an “Aug26” timestamp, suggesting it is a recent build, although neither source confirms that it represents the current state of the game or an approved marketing release. EA and Motive have not publicly established the footage’s status in the reports provided.
Squadron 42 Moves to 2027 to Avoid GTA 6’s Attention
Cloud Imperium Games delays Star Citizen’s single-player spin-off Squadron 42 to the second quarter of 2027. Chris Roberts says the decision is intended to prevent the game from launching into what he calls the “attention buzz saw” of Grand Theft Auto VI.
The move follows the same release-calendar pressure affecting Fable, although Squadron 42’s revised window is broader than the February 2027 date attached to Playground Games’ RPG.
