12TB Steam Leak Reveals Half-Life 2 Episode 3 and Portal Assets
Reports describe a 12TB archive containing game builds uploaded to Steam by Valve and third-party publishers between 2003 and 2013. The material reportedly covers more than a decade of PC gaming history rather than a single title or studio.
Early discoveries include cut content from Portal 2, assets connected to the canceled Half-Life 2: Episode 3, and F-Stop, an unreleased Portal-universe game built around a camera mechanic. The archive is so large that its full contents remain unclear, with more material still being examined.
Sony Confirms September 3 State of Play Doubleheader
Sony Interactive Entertainment hosts a State of Play on September 3, followed immediately by a Japan-focused broadcast covering announcements and updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners. The first presentation concludes with an extended look at Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Sony has not yet detailed the full lineup for either show.
The Blood of Dawnwalker and Onimusha Reviews Arrive With Strong Early Verdicts
Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of Dawnwalker is drawing praise for its focused structure, writing and dark fantasy setting, while critics also report performance issues. The action RPG takes place in a secluded valley ruled by vampires and is listed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC.
Eurogamer describes Rebel Wolves’ debut as a familiar adventure with bold ideas of its own, while GameSpot highlights the depth and nuance in its darker stories.
Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword also earns positive reviews as the samurai series returns with its first new mainline entry in two decades. Critics praise its combat, although VGC points to dated missions and uneven pacing.
Pure Xbox reports Metacritic scores of 88 on Nintendo Switch 2, 86 on PlayStation 5 and 82 on PC.
Pokémon Wild Card Movie Arrives in 2027 After World Championships
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is getting an animated movie called Pokémon Wild Card, which is scheduled to reach cinemas in 2027 following a teaser reveal at the Pokémon World Championships. Pokémon Unite also reveals four new playable Pokémon: Morpeko arrives September 4, Toxtricity follows on September 24, and Jolteon and Flareon are planned for October.
The 2027 Pokémon World Championships take place in Singapore, and PokémonXP will not return as part of next year’s event.
Sega Closes Rovio Copenhagen After Sonic Blitz Cancellation
