Onimusha: Way of the Sword sells more than one million copies across all platforms in its first day, giving Capcom another strong launch after the long-running action series' return. The performance also pushes total Onimusha series sales beyond 10 million units.
Capcom says it will focus on reactivating intellectual property that has not received a new title recently, following the game's successful debut. The publisher has not identified which dormant franchises could return next, but the strategy puts series beyond Onimusha back in the conversation.
DON'T NOD Warns It May Not Survive Beyond January 2027
French developer and publisher DON'T NOD says there is “material uncertainty” over its ability to continue operating beyond January 31, 2027, unless it secures additional external financing. The company is planning structural changes intended to keep the business operating, while separate reporting says it may face layoffs and closure within months if its situation does not improve.
PlayStation Reportedly Brings Back Killzone With a Possible Remake
PlayStation is reportedly working on a new Killzone project that remains in the early stages of development. The reports describe it as probably a remake of an older entry, with Guerrilla Games said to be collaborating with an outside studio.
Bulletstorm and Outriders developer People Can Fly is reportedly linked to the project, although its involvement has not been formally confirmed.
Grand Theft Auto VI Release Times Put New Zealand First
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch digitally at midnight in most regions on November 19, with regional PlayStation Store listings showing release times that vary by as much as 19 hours. New Zealand appears to receive access first, while Mexico and parts of Central America are reportedly among the last regions listed.
The timing has already prompted some Xbox players to discuss changing their console region to New Zealand to play earlier.
