Bungie Restores Destiny 2, Physint Switches to Xbox
Bungie is pulling Destiny 2’s vaulted campaigns and raids back into reach while promising to rebuild Marathon, and Hideo Kojima is explaining how Physint’s publishing moved from PlayStation to Xbox. Silent Hill: Townfall reviews praise its first-person horror, while Rockstar Games tightens Grand Theft Auto VI mod rules and Marvel’s Wolverine faces claims of regional LGBTQ censorship.
Bungie Restores Vaulted Destiny 2 Content and Promises More Marathon Support
Bungie says it will restore previously vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations, and raids, including material from the game’s first four years. The studio says that content “never should have been ripped away” and calls Destiny foundational to its future.
Marathon receives a separate promise of continued work: Bungie acknowledges that the extraction shooter “did not reach as many players as we had hoped” and says it will evolve the game rather than position it as a replacement for Destiny.
Alongside the restoration plan, Bungie says it is working toward new stories and games and intends to earn back player trust. The renewed Destiny commitment comes months after the studio ended ongoing support for Destiny 2.
Hideo Kojima Explains Physint’s Move From PlayStation to Xbox
Physint’s publishing has moved from PlayStation to Xbox, but the game’s final platform plans remain unsettled. Hideo Kojima says he does not know whether it will release on PS5 and has not decided whether Kojima Productions will use Sony’s Decima engine.
Kojima says Sony told him over Zoom that Physint was being cancelled, leaving him shocked and unsure what to do next. He has also said PlayStation tried to cancel the project, while coverage of the decision has linked Sony’s retreat to budget overruns, missed deadlines, and weaker-than-expected Death Stranding sales; Kojima Productions describes itself as healthy and profitable.
Xbox’s involvement may extend beyond funding one game to the broader Physint intellectual property, but whether the project will be Xbox-exclusive remains unresolved.
Silent Hill: Townfall Reviews Praise Its First-Person Horror
Reviews for Silent Hill: Townfall have landed on PS5 and PC with a broadly positive but qualified reception. Critics praise Screen Burn’s atmosphere, first-person perspective, and willingness to reshape the horror series, while repeated criticism focuses on awkward or frustrating stealth. +3
Rockstar Sets New Grand Theft Auto VI Modding Restrictions
Rockstar Games’ new Grand Theft Auto VI modding guidelines warn against unofficial main-story expansions, unauthorized ports, combined Grand Theft Auto maps, and projects that use third-party intellectual property.
The policy is also bad news for creators hoping to monetize Grand Theft Auto VI role-playing servers, with the restrictions potentially undermining those business plans. Rockstar additionally warns against carrying parts of older Grand Theft Auto games into new projects.
Marvel’s Wolverine Faces Regional LGBTQ Censorship Claims
Marvel’s Wolverine faces claims that some regional versions censor Mystique’s lesbian relationship and marriage to Tyger. Player posts and comparisons appear to show differences in how the relationship is referenced between versions.
The controversy arrives alongside a strong commercial debut: Marvel’s Wolverine records PlayStation’s biggest physical UK launch of 2026 and the third-largest boxed launch across all games and consoles in the country this year.
