Jagex Announces RuneScape 4 and a December Reignited Update


Jagex announced RuneScape 4, a fourth MMO built in Unreal Engine, at RuneFest 2026; the game does not yet have a launch date. The studio also announced a RuneScape animated project with MoistCr1TiKaL .
Jagex also released content roadmaps for RuneScape, Old School RuneScape and RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The main RuneScape game is set to “relaunch” with its Reignited update in December 2026 .
Capcom Plans to Evolve RE Engine Into an AI Game Engine
Capcom plans to evolve its RE Engine into what it calls an “AI-generation game engine,” with programmer Satoshi Ishida outlining the project at Capcom Open Conference RE: 2026. Ishida described the time-consuming demands of making games at the scale of Resident Evil and a future where studios create games alongside AI .
